Refuse to replace lifetime warranty brake pads
11-21-2018, I purchased rear brake pads for my car 2yrs ago and it was the top of the line pads that they advertise as the best and it cost 55doll for rear pads only and the guy at the counter explain to me these have a lifetime warr as long as you own the car he said when they wear down just bring them in for a free replacement , so today i did just that with the worn pads and was told lifetime warrenty doesnt cover warn out pads you have to purchase some more, and i had the original reciept and box and they still refused to replace them. Advance auto parts neers to stop misleading customers about lifetime warr parts when being purchased if there not gonna honor it. From now on i will purchase from autozone or napa auto parts.

To those with snobby, entitled responses
In response to Zack. None of those items you listed advertise lifetime warranties.
For good reason. If they had no intention of honoring a warranty, they shouldn’t have said a word about it. The term limited lifetime warranty is misleading to a lot of people who aren’t educated enough to know the difference. It’s a scam for the uneducated.
Plain and simple.
Zack probably lives in his parents basement, hence having all of his money to splurge on *** Chinese and Mexican made consumer goods.
*** quality parts are why they’ve stamped them with this bs warranty in the first place. So you get just enough satisfaction to pull the trigger on a part destined to failed in half the time.
4220 S MLK Lansing, MI. Store Time 4:17 PM Returning Oil.
Salesman starting yelling at me when I told him I was returning oil. He stated the vat is full.
I asked if I could simply leave the used oil in the container. He started "yelling", no I said the vat is full. I asked if he knew that it was State Law that I be able to return the used oil to where I purched the oil. That incressed his rage.
He told me he didn't care and Adv. Auto Policy was to accept nothing while the vat is full. I've been going to that store sense it opened. That is the first time I've ever been YELLED at in a retail store.
I drove one block S to Auto Zone. They accepted the use oil and sold new wiper blades to me. I have two Corvetts, two Dodge Challengers, 65 Ford Mustang and a Cadillac. Yes, I am a car guy.
I don't see myself going to that store again. I'm Frank Lain.

Worst waste of money!!!!
Terrible
After paying over $3000.00 for a motor, I find out it is no good. Your great warranty guaranteed you to get another and pay for the installation.
Well guess what, the second motor was garbage as well. We took the car to the dealership for them to do a diagnosis, they tell me that the motor is no good, that it will not hold any oil because it is defective, it is making a noise that they are not sure what it is, and because the engine has so many issues they would not do a diagnostic unless I guarantee them I would pay for it.
At this point I just want my money back but when I called the store that I received both of the defective motors from the only thing they wanted to do was get another motor to replace the second one at this point I don't want another motor I just want my money back. The dealership has the documentation and they are willing to hand it over to someone to assist me with the situation.
- Guarantee and warranty
- Poor product which caused the loss of a car and affected credit
Website Down
Advance Auto Parts website went down while I was putting items into my cart. I spent 45 minutes researching and selecting the items in my cart.
I call customer at (877) 238-****. Was on hold for nearly 30 minutes. The person that was then helping me said the website was not down. I was told to refresh or try to open the site again.
I explained that I had two browsers open and other sites were opening. I explained that a site called website down was showing that others were experiencing the same thing.
The CSR said the person sitting next to them said the website was not down. We were then disconnected so I called back and have been on hold for just over 35 minutes!!

I went in to get a part. There were 2 people ahead of me at the parts counter.
There were 2 people working with customers. 1 guy (i think was the manager was on the phone at the beginning of the parts counter. He gets off of the phone and walks up to take the next customer. As soon as he gets to the register the po hone rings again.
Instead of taking the customer that is there in the store, he goes back across the store to answer the phone again. Now more customers have come in. He's on the phone for about a minute and hangs up. Comes back to the register.
Gets a few words out and the po hone rings again. He stops with the customer. Goes back across the store to answer the phone, he says to his customer "sorry its the boss". Talks to the "boss" for about 5 min.
Then comes back to the customer. Phone rings again. He says " sorry its the boss again". This went on for about 10 min while the store is steadily filling up with customers.
Finally I just left. Ridiculous! ANY real boss would know that whatever he was calling for was NOWHERE as important as the customers in the store waiting to be served.
I will never go back. And by the way, this was about 30 min till close, so chances are the other parts stores were closing as well and the customers probably really needed those parts that night.
Advance Auto Parts has ripped me off for the last time
My gosh. Fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me.
So shame on me I've been there a couple times. Prior to my last visit I spent over $100 on a starter. I'm referencing the Advanced Auto Parts in Terryville Connecticut. the sign says spend $100 get $20 off the next purchase.
I went there the other day to make another purchase and I said I'm supposed to have $20 off. The guy said I don't look that up that's not what I do. I said so how am I supposed to get my $20 off? He said that's not what I do.
Looking at him before the old, I said I'm not sure how this works. He said you're supposed to get an email. I checked my email address with him and he said it was correct. I sat in the parking lot for about a half an hour digging through my emails.
Nothing. I usually shop at AutoZone but figured this place is closer I'll give it a shot. Never again. I got screwed out of my $20 benefit.
I'm going to tell everybody I see don't go there. Is that worth $20 to them?
Pissed off customer
I went to advance auto parts on Sunday at 6:08 PM I was helped by a guy named Greg well I walked in the store right up to the counter with the battery and I explained to him I “think” I need a battery employee did not offer to test my old battery and just brought me out a new battery never told me that there was a no return policy on batteries. So today after work I went to return my battery and the rude manager stated that there was a no return policy for batteries I will never shop here again!! Will be calling the 1888 number as soon as they open

Hey Brant, (NBC news Chicago)
This has nothing to do with the weather as far as I know, but in the 24 hours I've been back here in Chicago, people have been a genuine pain in the ass, from A - Z. It gives me the impression that there are problems here, and frankly Brant, I like most people don't really give a $%. I don't have much of an investment here, no kids in school, so, unlike others that are thinking it, I can say it.
What specifically happened, here's what happened:
this afternoon, a couple of hours ago, I stopped briefly at Advance Auto Parts in Skokie. 9320 Skokie Blvd, Skokie, IL 60077 (8**) **3-1247
Why: Recycle oil, I change my own oil. I'ver been carrying it around for months, and decided to finally dump it. I bought the oil there, they got back used. the last time I did so, there was no one in the store, and reasonably friendly clerk at the counter that just said thanks, to I want the plastic milk jugs back, and I said no. That was it.
This time, there were three dumb fat lazy sloths (Advance store Clerks) standing at the counter, and NO ONE in the store. Juan apparently the gang ring leader of the bunch, said you have to dump it yourself. Then leads me way back to the darl depths back of the store, where they've hidden the big dump thing behind mounds of batteries, and other things. Is this too weird or what? My opinion is that they are {{Redacted}} big time at that location.
After LABORING so hard for a few minutes (Juan) to move all this garbage, like I'm the only one that changes their own oil, he disappears. But who's lurking just behind the shelves, you guessed it, big paunchy "major minority" type.
It was a small episode of creepiness, that tells the story about how much Chicago Stinks. Chicago stinks, stinks, stinks......
There's more. as I was leaving, the epitome of MOB/Gang leader vehicles, a black Infinity, 30" chrome wheels, dark tinted glass, tailed me a pulled up beside. Is that strange or what?????

Refused a refund on faulty part under warrenty
On Sunday October 7, 2018 I purchased a Hub Bearing (front driver side) for my 1995 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4. We put this new bearing on my vehicle, and everything looked and worked as it should, for only about 35-40 miles.
The NEW hub bearing i purchased and put on the truck not even 2 hours prior locked up, and my wheel was to the point of falling off by the time i was able to *** the truck 50ft off of the highway into a gas station parking lot. i had to buy another new bearing. I took the FAULTY bearing back to the store. i did not want a replacement part- especially from the store that gave me a *** up one to begin with.
I WANTED MY MONEY BACK. The store manager refused to give me a refund because the part had been put on my truck, even with it being under warranty. I am absolutely pissed off. Had i not realized something wasn't and stopped, I would have been in seriously hurt or worse if I my wheel fell of while i was going 55mph.
THEN I WOULD SUE ADVANCE AUTO.
REFUND ME MY MONEY , AND YOU MIGHT BE ABLE TO KEEP A LOYAL CUSTOMER. IF NOT, I WILL NEVER PURCHASE A THING, NOT EVEN AN AIR FRESHNER FROM ADVANCED AUTO ANYWHERE.
Preferred solution: Full refund
