Advance Auto Parts Bait and Switch Scheme

Cyber Monday they offered a $70.00 discount on purchases over $200.00 dollars. I placed the order. They debited my bank account. The next day, they emailed me that the order has been cancelled. I called customer service. They were not sure they could deliver to that street address. I verified the address with them.(it was correct as ordered). They said they could resubmit the order, but not with the same discount because that was only for cyber Monday. So they were now willing to ship to the same address, as long as I paid them $20.00 more. This is a modern version of the old BAIT AND SWITCH scam that Montgomery Ward used to do. NO THANK YOU Advance Auto. I will never consider you an honest company after this scam. Hello Rock Auto Parts...I'm back!

Enjoy going to Wally World, where customer service sucks, the items are dirt cheap and the customers have there own freak show website "anon"! By the way they still make refill wiper blades for no less than $8.00, get a *** clue! As for the other guy "anonymous" for once someone on here had a valid point.

I meant to say that the wiper blades were $4.97 each at Wal Mart, and that the honest guy at Wal Mart told me that the refill blades are not being made anymore. Hmmn, WHY didn't Advance Auto Parts tell me that the refill blades were NOT being made anymore?

So, 10 bucks at Wal-Mart and at least 42 bucks at Advance Auto Parts? I'll go with Wal Mart.

These jerks pulled the bait and switch on me...told me that if I bought wiper blades then they would install them for me...She tried to sell me the entire "bow plus blade" and when I asked about the free install by them them, I was told that they would only be installed IF I bought THEIR brand. Girl at counter.

I said that I was going to Wal Mart. She was of NO help at all...Found out the blades she was trying to sell me were 21.00 a piece, and at Wal Mart, THEY WERE BUCKS A PIECE, That woman that works there needs an entomologist with a degree in proctology cause she has a bug up her ***!

Advanced autoparts triple billed causing causing overdraft charges

I purchased an alternator from advanced autoparts and they billed my account three times causing overdraft charges. They have refused to correct this problem. Me or my family will no longer do business with advanced autoparts and I recommend you use caution when dealing with this company. I have written several letters to company and made even more phone calls and still no resolve.They say that there billing errors did not cause overdraft charges but if they had not billed me repeatedly there wo not have been any overdrafts.I strongly recommend using another autoparts store for your car parts needs

Dishonest, Shady Practices in Auto AC Repair

Advance Auto Air on Gibsonton Dr, Brandon FL replaced my AC compressor on a 1999 Chevy Tracker 21 Dec 09 ($559 for New Nippon Denso Compressor and $225 for labor). They said that it didn't need backflushing, nor an expansion valve or a new dryer because the system was clean when they checked it. They said they use only new compressors b/c of problems with remanufactured ones. When I picked the car up and turned on the AC, it seemed operable, but it was hard to determine since the weather that day was cold. I didn't drive the car or use the AC during the holidays. On 31 Dec, I turned the AC on for an extensive period and it didn't work. After spending $819.51 to get my AC fixed by the experts, I think it is reasonable to return it to Advance Auto Air to fix it at no charge. They called and said that it now needs a new expansion valve because it's clogged. For a self-contained system that was "clear, didn't need an expansion valve nor a dryer" it's not reasonable to me that it should be clogged after they just put a new compressor on and fixed my AC problem. They wanted to charge me $215 for parts and labor. The response from the mehanic was, "It was clear and clean when I tested the system. There's no way I can control when an expansion valve will get clogged. It can clog 10 minutes after you leave the shop" I called another shop and described this sequence of events. The shop owner said that there's always fragments to varying degrees in the system when a compressor goes bad, and back flushing is a standard practice always plus you have to replace the dryer and show a receipt to the manufacturer in order for them to honor a compressor warranty. I called back to Advance Auto with this info and the lady responded that "you don't always have to replace the dryer and that you have a 12 month warranty with us." I feel that Advance Auto did not do standard AC repair procedures to diagnose my AC problem and adequately fix it and they were flat out dishonest with me. They took shortcuts that standard Auto AC Repair companies take like backflusing, replacing expansion valves and dryers with a compressor replacment, which left me with an unserviceable AC system which they claim no responsibility for. This is a tough situation for the consumer, who is not knowledgeable of AC repair procedures. I do not trust them, would not recomend them to anyone for AC repairs or any other repair and feel that they are dishonest. I'm a Lieutenant Colonel in the US Army Special Forces and live by a code of honor. I cannot stand shady people or businesses who operate in the grey areas. I will protect others by giving this company an extremely negative rating in every rating system on the web that I can find. Don't use this company, ever!

Advance Autos Sucks

They sold me a 1999 truck that broke down in 4 days. After 2 attempts car still didn't work on third try swapped to a 2000 truck same make color for 1999 price but more miles with no new bill of sale , plate or contract done had me rolling with wrong paperwork and copied my signature for second truck and repossess car for late payment of 4 days and a fee of 300 with breaching contract and changes of price in order to receive car back from 555.00 to 618.00 when inquiring why change because I'm the owner

Either you are not telling the whole truth or you have been dealing with an absolutely horrible manager. I have worked for Advance for 10 years now and this would be unacceptable for this to ever happen on so many levels.

That engine transaction has been stored on so many company records it is ridiculous. First, if you bought it would be in your customer history. Second, we "employee" can type in any item number or sku and find out if the store has ever sold that part. It will then give us specific info on when it was purchased, by whom, what type of payment was received for item and of course on what date. Third. the home office engine department has all records of engines sold to every store. That's just a few examples.

I can almost guarentee that if this is true, if you called the home office and demanded to speak to that stores District Manager, the issue would have been resolved.

Advance bends over backwards for good customer service that sometimes it is hard to work for them. So many people try to rip us everyday and most of the time we have to stand there with a smile on our face and let them.

Advanace has already took ownership & resolved the problem That the store Created it by not calling me to pick up my battery before the store closed for good. Advanced is a great place to do Business & i always will.

Question,If you drop off your Battery at Auto Zone to be charged overnight & the store location closes without calling you to pick up your Battery,shouldn’t they give you another one? Advanced Auto help me Resolve the situation
