Advance Auto Parts in Pineville, Louisiana - They are very unprofessional and don't know what the *** their doing

the guy in the store told me to pick up the part on Tuesday 6/28/16 I paid for it on Thursday 6/23/16 Cashier named Charles L. told me it would be in on Tuesday. Part was not in, a store manager told me it would be in Wednesday . Went Wednesday told me it would be in between 12 and 1 . Went back at 1 Store manager was gone for the day one of the employees said it won't be in until Friday showed me on the ticket . I made all those trips for nothing , try to get a refund they told me the part would have to be there to be refunded.

Discrimination issue in the the Advance Auto Parts store #1605.

On Friday, June 24th, 2016 I went to the Advance Auto Parts store #1605 which located in 1401 Pulaski Highway, Edgewood, MD 21040 to pick a parts ordered for my car. I waited a few minutes until the salesperson has finished talking on the phone and approached said that I want to take my order and showed him a copy of the order №60591359. During next 10-15 minutes he has checked something, and I offered to him my ID if necessary. He was quite rudely replied that it is not a necessary, and if need be, he will ask ... I did not say anything because I thought that a man has not a very good day… After a few minutes he asked me something very quiet, but I did not understand and asked him to repeat again. Upon hearing my English accent, he turned back to me and spoke to the chief with a request to deal with me, since I did not understand anything and he cannot speak with me at all. He handled the demonstrators roughly and naked aggression. He’s name was Robert Amoroso. I told his manager that if the English is not my native language but I’m speaking with confidence and during many years of working in the US Department of Defense I've never had problems with understanding my accent. And moreover, even if I do not understand something, he must be repeating as many times as necessary, because I’m still client and came in this store for service ... I guess it was an explicit expression discrimination that should NOT be inherent in US country, and in the Advance Auto Parts stores as well. Over twenty years of my life in the US I have never get such rudeness as in your store, THAT WAS THE LAST TIME I SHOPPED AT ADVANCE AUTO PARTS. I have to tell others in Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and YouTube about my experience there at that particular store with this particular employee. Best regards, L. Shats

So you did not look at the rotor before you left and you did not get a receipt when you returned it? Thanks for the 45 dollars. I bet you make sure all the hamburgers are then when you stop at Mcdonalds.

Let me get this straight. You use a product based on the manufacturer claims, don't like it and you expect Advance who happens to sell a multitude of products to refund your money because you either did not do your homework by reading reviews on that product or you can't follow directions on the can.

Poor customer service....returned battery twice because it was wrong size. Nothing wrong with the battery I returned .manager had bad attitude....Eddie. ..Timberlake Rd. Lynchburg va. yeah I would recommend to anybody not to purchase from Advance Auto but to patronize the local independent mechanic I know this might be hard to do but it seems like Advance Auto does not care about their customer base and they're very rude won't honor warranties and also I think their workers are unprofessional talking on the cell phones chewing gum blowing bubbles and such poor customer service the list goes on and on I just would have had them and drive down the street use the internet to get the part you need all I can say go to the local independent mechanic that's all I've got to say

I can't speak to whatever issue you had with Mr. Smith, but I -can- tell you plenty about automotive batteries, and a little about Advance Auto's warranty policies.

First, yes, a battery needs to be fully charged to be properly tested.

A load is applied for a specified time while being monitored to see if it drops below 9.6v. If voltage starts low, it ends low, and you get a false-fail.

Second, If, as you say, a 800 CCA battery measured 650 CCA, it IS a perfectly fine battery. It is operating at about 80% capacity. Most all manufacturers won't honor a warranty until it drops to 65% capacity, which in this case would be 520 CCA.

Under typical conditions, a battery does not fail until it drops below 50% capacity.

Third, an Advance Auto employee (even the manager) has little-to-no control over warranty returns. The store has a battery tester that is pre-programmed to create a "warranty return code" when a battery fails.

Without that code, their computer/register will not allow the return to proceed. It's a control put in place by corporate because corporate doesn't trust its own employees.
