Advance Auto Parts - Won't order parts unless paid for in advance.

Details
I been shopping the Harrisburg area stores for years and now they will not order parts from other stores for me unless they get paid in advance. Why should I have to come in for this when I do not live close. The reason I am told is that the main warehouse is on strike and the local stores will not order unless paid because they are afraid of it being stuck in their inventory.and that this was by the order of their district manager Serfass. I now go to AutoZone.

You are right about the ordering and paying for parts before it arrives. That is Jim Serfass(sp) area and he does not know how to run an ice cream truck more or less a bunch of stores because he wants to keep costs down.

My friend used to work there about 3 mos ago and left to go to the competition. I still buy at advance because the parts in my mind are better quality but not in the harrisburg area.

Maybe they are waiting for you to call the store again or to change your mind again. You call the store they do the preliminary work for you and gave you a part number then you go ahead and want it cancelled because you finally decided how to look things up on your own(WHOOPPPPIIE YOU DID IT ON YOU OWN)) and now you want to cancel it because you want to save a few bucks. Hope your wait is not too long.

Purchased new windshield wipers a couple of months ago, driving in rain wipers sticking to windshield. Return to Advanced Auto store we are purchased, I am no longer in the computer. If its a lamp that is warranted by Advance, meaning its their own brand then they will warrant it. If its by another manufacturer such as Sylvania then you you have to take it up with that company. So if you have their brand or a Carquest brand bulb-which is what is sold around here , they will warranty if not then call the company who made the product the warranty is with them.
