Advanced Auto # 02020 After I got to store I entered and staff was emptying trash I noticed how my wanting to purchase parts agitated the employee. i never said a word and He barks out "What do you need I have lots to do." I answered him i need to get oilchang for..... and 2 headlight bulbs for.." before I could finished he barks again "I can't get 2 different parts for two different vehicles at once give me the first one" . Well why did you ask me what I wanted I thought. I told him again about oil change and he pointed to adds and stated you have to pick one. So i did and he couldn't find filter with deal I picked . So i stated as long as its synthetic oil I don't care trying to make it easy for him. Again rudely he points to sales paper and said "you have to pick one" So I stated that if he was in that much of a hurry and I was bothering him that much i would wait for other guy. He said there is only two of us . I know its only two of you but I was hoping the other guy wasn't going to be so rude when I was politely trying to by parts from his store. I don't know what his problem was but I was in that store and checked out at 19:06 1 hour before close there was only 2 other customers in store at that time. Reg# 2 Danny c.

Oil filter was being stolen

I was home going through me emails and noticed that I had an email from AAP saying that my part was picked up. But! I had not gone down there to pick it up. I called as soon as I saw the email. The manage said that it was picked up, and he didn't see it. I had to insist to him that I didn't pick it up and that I was working until 5pm. I have more problems with the Brookfield Hub store than any other store. Is it the policy to treat your customers that way??

To pick up an internet order you have to sign a receipt that says it was picked up. I would call them and ask them to provide the receipt. If they can't provide, which they are to keep for records then I would contact corporate office.

Faulty part

Purchased Monroe RoadMastic Complete strut for my 2002 Chrysler Voyager LX at your store. The part did not fit my minivan. When I went back to the store I was given the same part number. The problem is that particular brand and part do not fit my vehicle. I advised the salesman that the part makes a noise when installed on my vehicle. I paid for the installation twice and had the same result. I would like to be reimbursed.

If it didn't fit the first time then how did the mechanic install the second one the second time. I would find a new mechanic. Could be defective struts but IMO Monro's are noisy they seem to squeak.

Interaction with "Cobie" about looking for a part.

I went into the Advanced Auto parts store located at 1661 Hiway 17 N Little River , SC 29566. On 7-24-20 I approached the counter person and ask for his help. I said I have a part here that has no part number on it .and I was not sure of the brake rotor hub assembly make..I said the caliper is Ford so I assume the disc rotor is also Ford but year unknown.It was an oil seal.He said our computer is set for only make and model. I said ,well can you see in the back if you have one like it. His attitude changed at that point .He did go back into the stock area for a minute and came back and said.that he went through some boxes and did not find it. He said how do you expect to find parts if you don't know what it is? I said I hoping that maybe you could recognize it or find one that matched.That's why I asked for your help. I said this is a Street Rod and these cars usually made with a combination of parts and I didn't know this part .He then said he has plenty of TOYS and he knows all there parts.. He said I only do make and model. Try NAPA! Also when entering the store there was only one senior citizen in there like me wearing a mask and he was on his phone.There were no phones ringing or other customers. Cobie and the other young man in the store at the time were not wearing masks..Cobie needs an attitude adjustment.I simply asked for help in finding a small part... I then left the store and drove into the Advanced Auto store in North Myrtle Beach 860 Hiwy 17 N and spoke to a man named Ryan. He took one look at the part and said yea, Ford ,oil seal .# 6815...He retrieved the two items I needed within 60 seconds while I was picking up other parts needed for my brake work. So I spent my money there. The store Cobie works at is only 3 miles or so from my home .I won't go there anymore.He is worthless as a sales person.He's not helpful with a request .He's mister "MAKE &;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;; MODEL..or go to NAPA !

Wait let me get this straight. You a senior who could find this web site and post just to blame someone else for the fact that you went in without any information.

That you could find this website to whine yet couldn’t look up on the same internet what part you needed. See how your complaint paints you as a “Karen” yet? With the wealth of human knowledge literally at your fingertips you couldn’t help yourself? The only reason you got your part is because you took it to someone who knew something.

These are clerks who work in those places, NOT MECHANICS!!!! You went in and asked for them to find a needle in a hay stack. This is why they asked for make and year. So they can go and pull that part.

They don’t instal it. They go and get a part and bring it to you and that is all their job is. Any thing else is extra. How exactly do you expect a parts clerk to have mechanics experience?

If they could be a mechanic they wouldn’t be parts clerks.

If they work a full time job then when exactly would they have time to learn every single part ever created. You’re also over simplifying your role the situation.

Very disappointed with my encounter with you all and the customer service rendered via my pick up person for my order. Unpleasant purchase experience, to say the least! I was sent a reminder this morning and when my pick up person got there to retrieve my order, she was first told there was no order for me and when she showed her order number in addition to her email notification, she was then told she would be refunded her money. Again, extremely underwhelmed with how things were handled! Terrible customer service. 4592 Jonesboro Road, Forest Park, GA 30297 definitely needs to do better!!!

Bad battery, only had a two-month warranty.

I bought a battery for my Harley last April 2019 for about $140.00. It had a date of July 2018 on it. It started not starting my bike very well in the fall and I chucked it up to sitting too long. I found out that the battery only has a two-month warranty. I found a place online that has batteries for less than $100.00 and they have a 12-month warranty. Lesson learned.

Be careful which employee you interact with or get stuck with being your cashier

Have been a customer for years and regularly visit any one of the 6 locations in my city but recently got the worst treatment from an employee that ruined my entire day and it's now 24 hours later and he was such a *** probably racist, *** I usually visit the store on MLK bLVd over near my apartment which happens to be the one near the west side, ghetto/project side of town is. All the employees are African Americans and usually never have any problems and I'm always respectful as are they. I'm so far far away from a prejudice person and treat every equal. When people are friendly and respectful I tend to be the same way back. Even when some I'd being an *** towards me I tend to be the bigger person and keep smiling and kill them with kindness. This cashier flat out ignored me and and I got nothing more than evil glance from him and pretty much a whatever *** you when I said thank you for helping me and hope you have nice day. He wasnt busy he just didnt wanna be nice to me because I'm white? Maybe idk. He was a *** during every step and reminded me a stuck up teenage girl going to prep school who just doesnt give a *** about anyone or anything but themself. I'm done wasting my time and even talking about this. Was there to cancel an order that I mistakenly that Was supposed to have arrived already, but it was actually not even supposed to be here for another week. So I wanted to cancel the order. I ended up canceling the order and the guy says that I'm not going to be able to get the shipping and handling $ back which I thought was *** but ok I was fine with it. I bought the item in-store. Well, at least I ordered the item from the store in store and was expecting it to be shipped a the following Monday. I showed up on Wednesday Only to realize that it wasn't going to be here into the next Monday. So just decided to cancel the order and get my money back. The dude was just a *** And I have no other problems with Advanced or any of the things that happened other than the cashier.

I wanted to cancel an order that I mistakenly thought was supposed to have arrived already. Or at least that's what I was led to believe by the guy that ordered it for me.

I ordered it on a Friday and he said it will be here monday. I show up three days after Monday on Wednesday in case there was any delays I wouldn't be waisting my time because im very busy all day and night usually. Well the guy that told me Monday never said NEXT monday, at least im pretty sure he didn't. Seeing as how I kinda needed these spark plugs sap and know for a fact without even looking it up that I can find some where to buy them and receive them much sooner if not the same day so I don't believe I would have ordered it if i knew it would take 10 days to arrive from a warehouse less than 5 hours away.

The guy even said they would be coming from Atlanta Georgia.

My family and I have made the trip in 4 hours but I wasn't hauling a truck full of parts, it was a car full kids anxious to arrive at Six Flags! This was way before the pandemic so I honestly believe there is absolutely no excuse for spark plugs to take 10 days to arrive from a few counties away.

Have tools to help a costumer who needs help at the store

I had a broken belt on my car and I had no tools to change it.i bought the belt and the lady said that they had no tools to help me all I need was a 16 mm socket and a ratchet and a pry bar but she said we don’t have one to lone you so I was very upset because I had just work a 12hr shift and just wanted to get home so I had to buy a 3 piece pry bar set and after about 45 minutes she went to her car and found a socket and ratchet to help me,But the man who was working with her never ever spoke to me or even tried to help so I wanted to say thanks to her. But very disappointed with the company and that guy for not helping me in a time of need

I brought a car battery off line went to pick it up at the store and waited two hours for the installation, come to find out that they couldn't install it. Then I took the core back from the exchange they could not find the transaction, and was told to come back tomorrow. I am a old black man disabled veteran suffering from dementia. I felt unwelcome and very angry they used to treat the customer better than that if my memory correct.

I ordered 3 items so that total was over $25 to get free shipping. Two items were at local store for immediate pickup and 3rd had to be sent to me. I called the store and asked if I could pickup items at store that was closer to me. They said no and we cancelled that part of the order and told to reorder with pickup at different store however, after 2 items were cancelled I realized that if I reordered them my order would be less than $25 and wouldn't qualify for free shipping (which should be free anyway since items were in store stock, which I realized this afterwards). So, first, why is there no option to cancel an online order? 2nd, what are my options now in case the items in the store cost more than ordering them online for store pickup? 714-864-**** gtorydr@***.com

Went there to buy Bondo. Asked the cashier a few questions about the product and didn't know the answers and suggested I go to NAPA they would probably know.. so bought a small can got home it was barely over half full but had to use it.. returned the next day and told cashier about it being only half full and he said you're kidding me. That's was it so walked out and not going back..

Bad customer service

I purchased a product which was a screw extractor set as an alternative because the store was out of stock of the item that I wanted no big deal, but the screw extractors in the set that I purchased were too long. There wasn't enough room between the firewall in the pulley to use them. My truck is broke down so I took an Uber to the other Advance Auto parts in town which there are several but I went to the only one I could find that had the screw extractor set listed in stock online which was 14 miles from the house for a $20 Uber fee. Then the associate at the advance Auto parts on San Jose his name was Trent told me that he couldn't return the screw extractor set because there was oil on the screw extractors, I explained to him that the machine shop that made the screw extractors puts oil in the case so that they don't rust before a customer purchases them. He had to go and ask a manager if I was lying to him and then came back and decided to do the return for me which I had the receipt for but told me that he couldn't do the exchange or give me cash but he had to put it back on my card and I explained that I couldn't wait for it to go back on my card that I needed the money to purchase the item that I needed from store. He told me that it had to go back on my card there was nothing he could do. So I wasted a $20 Uber trip to a store and couldn't get the tool I needed. As far as what can be done about it hopefully by the time you guys open up on Monday I will be able to have made it to work somehow to make the money to buy the part either from that store or somewhere else and fix my truck but if not it would be great if you guys could just get the guy to exchange the tool for me, and get the associate trained on better customer service in the future. Or possibly get the item I need shipped to the store right by my house.
