Advance Auto Parts in Cape Fear, North Carolina - Non helpful non friendly staff

Went in to a local Advanced Auto in Wrightsboro N.C. with my son. He was on crutches due to an ankle injury. Noticed at least 6 employees, out of the 6, 4 were behind the counter. None of them offered to hold door or ask if they could assist my son in finding something. Instead, my son is going up and down each isle on his own with his crutches trying to find a special oil. One employee was standing behind counter with his arms crossed. To me, this is not a friendly way to treat customers who are there to spend their hard earned money in your store. Not one employee offered any type of assistance. Extremely disappointed the way this store is ran. They need to have more training in the customer service department.

Did your son ask for help. A lot of invalids take offense when offered help because they want to do it themselves.

I agree with him asking for help. Some folks are self sufficient and don't want to be treated any different. It seems like he did not have any problem but you as his "mother" did.

Its a 2017 ram.. i gad bought brakes a yr ago. which was the good ones atvthe moment i couldnt afford the good ones so i bought the less expensive. I guess the OP has no problems with strangers telling him what he can do on HIS PRIVATE PROPERTY! Because that is what he has done to someone else.

Be it a auto parts store or a car dealership you DO NOT have the right to admonish anyone on their private property. So what, the EMPLOYEE was messy. It’s THEIR JOB to clean up the mess YOU make in the parking lot. So if they want to toss something they are going to be cleaning up in awhile, who are YOU to say anything.

You do NOT have the right to be confrontational over something you have zero say in.

It’s their property and if they wish to soil it then THAT IS THEIR RIGHT!!! Everyone has rights including the business you slack jawed yokel!

Its a free service, so either pay a mechanic to do it faster or do it yourself. You still saved some money or did you expect the red carpet to be rolled out by a minimum wage lackey or obviously did his first install and it was on your call. Maybe your sister could of done it faster than him since you obviously are not mechanically inclined

I continuously get better customer service and prices from Car Quest. Advance employees repeatedly refuse to look for parts at nearby stores or provide totals on large orders. Advance Employees are less knowledgeable about the parts they carry. Commercial account holders with Advance pay as much as retail Car Quest customers in our region. Car Quest typically offer better quality parts for a better price as well. I have been doing business with both companys for 15 years, and since the merger of Advance and Car Quest, the gulf between these two companys has just gotten wider and more apparent. I truely hope the resolve is not dumbing down Car Quest to make Advance look better. Why can't Advance hire employees that care about their customers?

Advance Auto Parts in Oxford, North Carolina - HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

On a trip grocery store run I came back to my truck finding that my starter had decided to die while the kids and I were in the store. Immediately, my husband came and we had the truck towed home. I went online to order a new starter from Advance Auto Parts, because we purchase from them 95% of the time because their online purchasing is super fast and convenient. I selected the option to have the part picked up from our closest store...Oxford,NC. As usual we printed the receipt and the part was suppose to be ready in 30 minutes. We went to the store where there were two associates trying assist pulling the part, then out comes another Associate that comes and takes over. She stated that the part we were given by the other associates was new and our online order said we purchased a remain. Ok, so where is our part? She said she did not know and it was not at her store. How could that be we were able to order online and it clearly stated that the part was in Inventory in the Oxford NC store. I immediately get on the phone with Customer Service and the rep apologized and said the store must not be updating their inventory list so online showed a false selection. He stated that the part was in the Henderson store just one town over from us, and all the Associate had to do was fill out paper work for the order to be sent to SECOND pick up location. Well Ms. Rebecca Troutman decided she would CANCEL our order completely and declined to do the necessary paperwork while we were on the phone with Customer Service. By this time we were pissed. If filling out paper work was the only thing she had to do why did not she do that? She told us our money would be returned to the card and we would have to do the online order all over again. This was such an inconvenience because we had our 10mth old with us and my husband had to get back to work. All he wanted to do is come install the part with ease because it was only 5 minutes away from us NOT one whole town over 20+ minutes away! Ms. Troutman was rude and very nonchalant about our issue. She just stood there looking at us like she had something to prove. She had a chance to fix "her" store's mistake and rudely declined. It upsets us that this happen because we use this store frequently, but I guess from now on we will try to use the store close to my husband's job more than the one in our home town!
