Advance Auto Parts - Patronizing attitude
#1 Went in 8/1/17to see if one could by a cap for the electrolyte reservoir on a battery. He told me I needed a new battery.
I told him it starts fine now that I topped it off with distilled water. He told a 35 year veteran science teacher in a patronizing voice that that is because" water is a good conductor". He then told me that it wasn't distilled water in my battery, it was acid (which is not true, that reservoir holds slightly acidic water, and topping it off with distilled water is common car care.) Then he said it must be an old battery. It is a year old.
Not only am I a veteran science teacher who has been servicing my own cars since 1976, I can read a sticker that says 2016.
The correct answer would have been " No we can't sell you one. End of story without the (sexist?) patronizing.
Reason of review: Poor customer service.
Preferred solution: train employees regarding sexist attitudes, and train them in the true nature of car battery care..
Advance Auto Parts Cons: Poor customer service.

Agree, I think a veteran teacher who serviced their own vehicles for an extended period of time should realize that if you have to add water perhaps you may have a problem. Maybe your alternator is putting out too much voltage and its cooking the battery. But then again I am not a teacher, just someone who was self taught on automotive issues.
Well a science teacher should know that batteries made now don't need water added to them .
