Lol Johnson Controls makes literally most of the batteries you buy bro. Go to Costco, Oreillys, Autozone you’ll run into this. No reason to be pissy not everyone’s out to get you

On 8/2/2019 I visited advance in Lakeland Florida to have them do a battery replacement for me. The initial experience seemed fine but then a few days ago my car died when I went out in the morning. I took it to Midas and they did a full diagnostic. It was a bad...

You bought a battery from Advance Auto and when it failed to start your car you took it to Midas and now want Advance to pay for a replacement? It doesn't work like that, mate.

When you had the problem you should have had the battery jump-started and drove to Advance for them to check it as it was their battery. There is always a warranty with batteries and they could have determined what recompense you were entitled to. The fact that Midas said the battery was a "dud" means nothing. It may or may not be.

The battery could have been drained by something like a light being on overnight, etc. Who knows, but it is up to Advance to advise you, not Midas.

After all, Midas sold you a new battery, which was in their interest to do so. You got things backward on this one.

Went to Harrisburg Pa store for fuses and waited in line with others to get serviced by the only counter person available while there was another employee just sitting on a small stool in aisle making noises like he was hurt or something.

People go to advanced for batteries because of the free intallation advertisement (on most cars). Is there any car that qualifies for this? They sent my wife out, on a cold night, with a battery under her arm to a car that wouldn't start, refusing installation...

Advance team member here. We had a customer in a late model bmw insist we install her battery.

It was easy to get to. We tried time and again to explain to her it wasn't the labor but the computer that was the problem. Even with the memory saver installed the computer would lock out and have to be reset. She insisted.

We told her again it was not going to run. She still insisted. We installed. She complained her car will now not run.

Yes ma'am here is the number for the tow truck.

100 mile tow and $5000 total later her car runs. Guess you could say a hard bought lesson.

Purchased a timing chain under the impression it had a lifetime warrenty. Was told it had a lifetime warrenty. After 2 years and 30000 miles. The chain failed in multiple spots. The person i talked on the phone with was no help. Didnt offer any solutions. I will not be purchasing any parts from here anymore. Now because the chain failed i might be looking at buying a new motor for my truck

Advance Auto Parts - Won't order parts unless paid for in advance.

I been shopping the Harrisburg area stores for years and now they will not order parts from other stores for me unless they get paid in advance. Why should I have to come in for this when I do not live close. The reason I am told is that the main warehouse is on strike and the local stores will not order unless paid because they are afraid of it being stuck in their inventory.and that this was by the order of their district manager Serfass. I now go to AutoZone.

You are right about the ordering and paying for parts before it arrives. That is Jim Serfass(sp) area and he does not know how to run an ice cream truck more or less a bunch of stores because he wants to keep costs down.

My friend used to work there about 3 mos ago and left to go to the competition. I still buy at advance because the parts in my mind are better quality but not in the harrisburg area.

Advance Auto Parts - Commercial account "Tier's" bogus...

They offer best price match guarantee when they open a commercial account then change your pricing structure raising it without notifying you. When questioning it to "upper manager" an excuse of you aren't buying enough... so if business slows they charge more to add to lost revenue... nice. Also now checking retail website offering 20% extra off anyone can buy the same part(s) for less than they're highest discount tier. (ex 27-2588 high tier $172, my tier $182 retail website $154) Poor business Advance, get with it. Island Park repair shops unite.
