Checked pricing and stock status online for a battery. Online pricing was the best when compared to similar batteries from competitors.
Telephoned the store just to double check the battery was actually in stock, because once I shut down the engine, it wasn't starting again without at least a hefty push. Get to the store, do the transaction, head outside to begin removal of the core. When the old battery was almost out, the store clerk comes out and tells he they screwed up, and the battery he thought he was fetching for me (Silver, 800CCA, Dual Post) was not in stock. Fabulous.
Engine off and no battery. Back into the store to try to fix the error. Turns out, conveniently enough, the only battery they had in stock that met the minimum requirements for my vehicle was a "Gold" series - the next, more costly level. Without hesitation, management immediately stepped right up and sold me the better grade battery for the Silver price!
